ENERGY REGULATORY PARTNER JOINS LATHAM & WATKINS IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

Washington, D.C., March 16, 2009…Latham & Watkins LLP1 is pleased to announce that Ken Simon has joined the firm as a partner in the Energy Regulatory and Markets Practice Group in the Washington, D.C. office. Simon brings broad-based energy regulatory and transactional experience, with a concentrated practice representing electric utilities, gas utilities and generation owners on energy regulatory and markets issues before state and federal regulatory agencies and related transactions. Simon also has extensive experience in the acquisition and sale of energy assets. He has practiced at the partner level in the energy regulatory and markets field for more than 20 years, developing a reputation as one of the leading lawyers in this field in the United States.

Simon joins Latham & Watkins from Dickstein Shapiro LLP in Washington, D.C. He received a law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1977, and graduated with high honors from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974.
