K&L Gates

Toronto/Berlin/Hamburg, 27. April 2010. Die internationale Anwaltssozietät K&L Gates hat die zu dem größten kanadischen Zeitungs- und Zeitschriftenhaus TORSTAR gehörende Harlequin Enterprises Ltd. (Harlequin) bei der Aufstockung ihres Anteils an der Cora Verlag GmbH und Co. KG („Cora“) beraten.

Harlequin ist der weltweit größte Verlag für „romance fiction“. Zusammen mit der Axel Springer AG hat Harlequin Cora seit 1976 als paritätisches Joint Venture betrieben. Cora ist in Deutschland einer der führenden Verlage für „Romance“-Romane. Mit dieser Transaktion übernimmt Harlequin bei Cora alle verlegerischen Aktivitäten in Eigenregie.

Die Transaktion soll voraussichtlich bis Ende April vollzogen sein. Über Details wurde Stillschweigen vereinbart.
